If you have done some data filling task in Excel, you might see the situation that you need to enter text from a list. In such case, you find it is tedious to enter the text manually to the cells. I was in those shoes a few months ago. My first thought was to find a built-in function to enable excel autocomplete (or suggestions) as I have on input box of websites. To my surprise, there wasn’t any tool to help me achieve that.
So I had to fill all the cells (nearly 2000 cells of Latin names) but I decided to find a tool to create a dropdown list once I start typing text in my Excel cells. If I cannot find any, I will create one.
So, two months later, I’m here with the tool that adds the function I needed badly. I’m sure that it is useful to other people too. The new tool is called Excel Autocomplete by Oheen.
How does this excel autocomplete tool work
Let’s have a look at the Excel Autocomplete tool in action:

Cool, right?
You will be surprised by how easy it was to create an autocomplete like this with the software I’ve created. It takes a few steps to setup the suggestion feature for your excel sheets.
The first step would be to define a list. You need to give this list a name. Then, select the cells you want to enable auto-suggestion feature. Finally, click on Add-in tab, click on create combo and select the list you have defined.
That’s all you need to do to enable the suggestion feature.

As you can see, creating excel autocomplete is super easy. Filling data into excel is not a difficult task anymore. Some may find it is enjoyable.
The software was tested against Excel 2010, Excel 2013 and Excel 2016. All in Windows environments.
Please download and try the free version first. If it works, then you can purchase. Due to the differences between environments, the add-in may not work on your computer.
To save yourself from wasting time and frustration, please try the free version first.
